Hands loading plates onto a barbell during a training session

Personal training · New York City and virtually

A short list, since 2004.

One-on-one, sixty minutes, in person in New York City or virtually. The roster is small on purpose. Most of the people on it have been there ten years or more.

“He has worked with me through three pregnancies, multiple surgeries and always caters my workouts to rebuild my strength, flexibility and prevent injuries. I feel stronger and more fit in my late 40’s than I did in my 20’s.”

The method

We measure first, and we keep measuring.

Every client starts with a seven-event assessment run in a single session. Seven numbers, combined into one, on the same protocol every time. The point is not where you rank against strangers. It is that six months from now we run the same seven events and find out whether anything moved.

Then we retest. Not to feel good about it, but because a number moving is the only honest answer to whether the last six months worked. Some clients have a decade of these on file.

It is the same instinct behind the design work. Specify from what actually happens in the room, not from what looks right.

What it looks like

Built around the body in front of me.

01

Strength, boxing, conditioning

Barbell work, mitts and bag, mobility, cardio. What you get depends on what the assessment says and what you actually want to be able to do.

02

Through the hard parts

Pregnancy and postpartum. Spinal surgery. Hip replacement. Coming back after a year off. The program bends, it does not stop.

03

In person or virtually

New York City, or wherever you are. Virtual clients get the same programming and the same assessment.

Clients

The list is short because people do not leave.

“I've trained with Cisco for 14 years, starting at 44. When I faced major health challenges, spinal surgery and a total hip replacement, Cisco was there every step, adapting my training to support my recovery and get me back to full strength.”

Sharon Richter10 years

“When I started working out with Cisco I thought I was in good shape. Now I am 10 years older and in far superior physical health than when we met. I recommend Cisco without reservations and without regard to your fitness abilities.”

Daniel Blaser10 years

“From wedding prep to pregnancy and postpartum, Cisco has been my fitness guru, drill sergeant, and sometimes therapist. He goes above and beyond to hold you accountable, even if it means holding your newborn baby so you can get leg-day in.”

Honestly

This may not be available.

Sessions are $200 for sixty minutes, in New York City or virtually. There are a fixed number of hours in a week and most of them are spoken for. If there is no room, we will tell you that rather than put you on a list and forget about you. If there is, we start with the assessment and go from there.

Ask about availability

Training inquiries come straight to Cisco.

The other half

This is why the gyms work.

Twenty-two years of coaching is why we know what belongs in the room and what is going to sit unused in the corner.
